All the work of the Community Foundation depends on our community of donors, including those who use Advised Funds to make the most of their charitable giving. So we asked them: What do you think of your Community Foundation?
Based on a third-party survey by the Center for Effective Philanthropy, paid for in part by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, it’s clear that our donor partners believe in the leadership role we play across our region. Their responses put us at the top for this category among 31 community foundations across the nation.
This Donor Perception Report also showed:
- 92 percent of donors are satisfied with our leadership in the community, compared to only 79 percent at the typical community foundation in the dataset.
- Donors ranked us near the top for staff responsiveness and for the clarity of communicating our goals, including the results-based grantmaking framework developed in 2010.
These responses inspire us to do more and to thank our donors, past and present, who make this possible:
- Donors who made gifts and bequests to our endowment in the past, so we can react quickly as we did in responding to tornado recovery.
- Donors, through the Giving Together program today, who help us do even more every day, including the recent local match for $10 million in TIGER IV federal funding.
