Lakeshore links to Paralympic Games

August 27, 2012

When the Paralympic Games open in London on August 29, more than 30 athletes and teams will show off the skills and talents that they honed at our own Olympic and Paralympic Training site at the Lakeshore Foundation.  According to Lakeshore president Jeff Underwood, thousands have trained here since 2003 with aspirations to make their mark at the international level.

Underwood is one of a number of Lakeshore staff who will be at the London competition, representing our community either as athletes or as volunteers in leadership roles.

You can connect to the action through the Lakeshore website, which includes a complete list of everyone representing Alabama in London and promises daily updates of the action. You can also catch the highlights on television or at viewing parties hosted by Dave’s Pizza in Homewood.

Whether you are an athlete or a fan, this is a great opportunity to connect to one of our community’s true gems and a longtime partner with the Community Foundation.
