Railroad Park in running for top park

August 24, 2011

Have you voted yet for Railroad Park, currently in the running for recognition and a $100,000 top prize in the America’s Parks competition? Railroad Park represents so much that is great about our community — our ability to Community Foundation marker at Railroad Park observation areawork together, to build on our heritage and to create a place where we can all come together in so many special ways.

The Community Foundation is proud to have been an early supporter of Railroad Park and the fact that this special urban space continues to spark a cool, vibrant city center. And we’d love to see it recognized once again with a national prize, based on voting by people all across our community.

We have plenty to look forward to as fall temperatures add to the enjoyment of Railroad Park, Red Mountain Park and Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve. All three are part of the Three Parks Initiative we seeded with a $1 million grant in 2007, proving again the power of philanthropy to drive positive change.
