We’re already seeing great results from our 2011 grant to M-POWER Ministries, which provided $50,000 over two years to support evening walk-in clinics and the PATH (Providing Access to Health Care) Clinic. Many patients found help here for chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and pulmonary disease, allowing them to avoid visits to emergency rooms.
We expect that success to multiply in coming years, thanks to a federal grant of $1.4 million that will allow the clinic to expand and continue its great work in partnership with the UAB School of Nursing. That’s what you call leverage — from $50,000 to $1.4 million!
Congratulations to M-Power and UAB School of Nursing for the recognition this grant brings and best wishes in putting these new dollars to work providing access to care that will help people lead healthy lives. This promises is a special kind of transformation both for the Clinic and the people its serves.
