Grant Cycle opens July 20, 2018

If you are a non-profit organization that serves our five-county area (Jefferson, St. Clair, Blount, Shelby, and Walker), then you have an opportunity to join with the Community Foundation as we work together to achieve results for our community!

Our next available grant round is Cycle 2, which will open for brief proposals on Friday, July 20, 2018. To be considered for this round of grants from our Community Funds, proposals should address strategies for the following Results:

Communities are sustainable, livable & vibrant.

Applications for this Result should focus on one of the following strategies:

  • Expand and improve public green space
  • Further develop vibrant city center for Birmingham
  • Improve the natural environment
  • Expand access to arts and cultural opportunities

Individuals and families are economically secure.

Applications for this Result should focus on one of the following strategies:

  • Improve housing stability
  • Increase public policy changes and direct services that positively impact low-income individuals and families

The brief proposals are due, Friday, August 17, 2018

The Community Foundation has an interest in proposals across all four results that address issues of aging and reference the findings of our EngAge report on aging-related needs in the Greater Birmingham area. Please note, applications for the grant cycle are not required to have a focus on aging.
