Brenda Howell

Director of Operations and Compliance

Brenda Howell joined the Community Foundation staff in 1995 and became Director of Operations and Compliance in 2007. She previously worked for other community nonprofits in Georgia and Alabama.

She received her B.A. from Auburn University and her master's in public administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, receiving recognition as Student Administrator of the Year and membership in Phi Alpha Alpha, the public administration national honorary society. She served on the MPA Accreditation Advisory Board at UAB and is past presidentof the Greater Birmingham Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration.

She serves on the Design Review Committee of her neighborhood and is a member of Catalyst, Sloss Furnaces Foundation, Vulcan Park Foundation and Alabama Trust for Historic Preservation.
