Lakeshore Foundation brought home its own medal from the 2012 Paralympic Games in London, an international recognition of the important role of many coaches there who helped Paralympian Jennifer Schuble achieve success.
Schuble, a two-time medalist in cycling at the London Games, presented the Order of Ikkos medal to Lakeshore Foundation, the first time this coaching award has been awarded to an organization rather than an individual.
Our community also takes pride in this honor, which puts the spotlight on the world-class work of Lakeshore Foundation in helping people with physical disabling conditions achieve independence and pursue active, healthy lifestyles. For Schuble and others, that includes preparation to compete — and win — at the Paralympic games.
Congratulations to Lakeshore on this medal and to all those who find their way to health and independence thanks to the work at this facility. As we look for ways to help people lead healthy lives, it’s great to have this resource right here at home.
