Where is your favorite park, coffee shop or religious institution? Where do your kids go to school? Where are the places you enjoy going on a regular basis? Now, here’s the trick question: Could you get there safely if you couldn’t travel by car?
Sure, you might not want to cycle or walk in the rain or cold, but if the weather was great (like it has been lately), could you find a path via a trail or sidewalk to your favorite destinations, all the places you travel to most often during your regular week?
On Tuesday, Oct. 12, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., you can describe those great places and the ways you want to travel at a special planning session with the Freshwater Land Trust. That great organization is working on a Greenway Master Plan for Jefferson County and they want to find all the places that each one of us defines as special, what they call “Our One Mile.”
Join the crowd next Tuesday at the Alagasco Center for Energy Technology, near Railroad Park at First Avenue and 20th Street South, or go to the FWLT website for more information.
