Gus Heard-Hughes may pack his sunglasses and walking shoes when he heads to the Alabama Water Rally this weekend at Camp McDowell, but he’s really not there just for fun. Instead, our Director of Initiatives will be on a panel with other funders to help representatives of area nonprofit organizations learn more about what we hope to support with our grants.
The “Show Me the Money” panel discussion will focus on current trends in grantmaking, including the partnerships and collaborations that have been so successful in our own community.
The event starts tonight with the River Celebration Awards banquet and a book signing featuring Beth Young’s latest book, “Longleaf: As Far as the Eye Can See.” Other sessions throughout the weekend focus on various water quality issues, looking at the issues from the perspective of science, public policy and organizational development.
