What’s your name for our greenway system? Enter FWLT contest

October 7, 2011

If you’ve been part of identifying your favorite greenways, trails, sidewalks and bike routes as part of “Our One Mile,” now is your chance to choose the name for the greenway system that results from this master plan process. If this is your first time to hear about this project of the Health Action Partnership in partnership with federal funding and local support from the Community Foundation and others, you can still get your creative juices flowing for the chance to win $1,000.

Don’t worry — we’re not changing the names of your favorite trails and walkways, whether Jemison Park or Five Mile Creek Greenway. Instead, this name will cover the overall system across our region.

Start thinking now and submit your entries on-line through November 7, 2011. Think of a name that is five words or less and that reflects the natural, historical and geographical themes of our region. In addition to a prize of $1,000 cash, the winner will receive a bike donated by Cahaba Cycles and be recognized at the master plan unveiling in early 2012.

Find out more and submit your entry on the Freshwater Land Trust website.
