The Community Foundation is pleased to announce that the 2020 Cromwell Trust Scholarship application period opens December 3, 2019.  Applications will be due Monday March 16th, 2020.

This scholarship is open to those involved in creativity, no matter their age. There is a preference given for applicants from the service area of the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham (Blount, Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair and Walker counties) and to those involved in performing arts.  However, out of state awards have been given, and all art forms and creative efforts will be considered  For example, awards have been given to a poet, visual artist, art therapist, music theater performers, musicians, singers, dancers,  and storyteller.  (The quality of the application is key.)

Please share this opportunity with individuals interested in furthering their involvement in creativity through additional training, career advancement, and/or education in a creative pursuit.  If you have students who are interested in pursuing a path in the performing arts (in particular), or other areas of creativity, please make sure they are aware of the opportunity.  Awards range from $500 to $5,000 depending on the quality of applications and ambitions presented by applicants (such as education and training versus college expenses).
