The Women’s Network Giving Circle is committed to helping women and girls in Jefferson County overcome barriers that prevent them from reaching their full potential.

The Women’s Network was founded in 1978 by a group of Birmingham business women who saw the need for women to come together and network. At that time, women were not allowed to join Rotary or Kiwanis clubs in Birmingham. For more than 40 years business and professional women came together to cultivate, connect and inspire a diverse membership with a goal of supporting each other. With the inclusion of more women in other civic organizations and the onset of the pandemic in 2020, members began looking for the most beneficial way to continue the mission of the organization. In 2022, The Women’s Network voted unanimously to dissolve the 501c6 and use the remaining assets of the organization to open The Women’s Network Giving Circle at the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham and continue their goal of Women Helping Women.

The Giving Circle is an endowed donor advised fund that gives former members and others the opportunity to stay engaged through donations, networking opportunities, and grant making decisions.
