The Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham, the state’s oldest and largest community foundation announced that Kate Danella, Shegun Otulana and Mechelle Wilder are joining the Board of Directors with terms starting in 2020.
Kate Danella is head of Strategic Planning and Consumer Bank Products and Origination Partnerships at Regions Bank, where she also serves as a member of the company’s Executive Leadership Team. Danella joined Regions in July 2015 and was previously Head of Private Wealth Management. Prior to joining Regions, Danella served for 13 years as vice president for Capital Group Companies, a global wealth management organization managing more than $1.7 trillion in assets. A graduate of Vanderbilt University, she also holds a master’s of philosophy in European Studies from the University of Cambridge, and a master’s in business administration from Harvard Business School. Kate and her family reside in the Birmingham metropolitan area.
Shegun Otulana is the Founder and CEO of TheraNest and its parent company Therapy Brands. Therapy Brands is the leading provider of software solutions for mental, behavioral, and rehab health providers and organizations. Its solutions are used by tens of thousands of care providers in practices and organizations throughout the United States and abroad. Prior to this, Shegun served as Founder and CEO of Zertis Technologies, a computer software company. He is a member of the board of directors of TechBirmingham, Venture for America, Birmingham Business Alliance, Innovation Depot, and is an Endeavor Mentor. He is a recipient of the 2018 Jemison Award and Alabama Power’s 2018 Power of Leadership Award. Shegun was also named as the 2019 E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the Southeast Region. He is a member of the 2019 Class of Henry Crown Fellows within the Aspen Global Leadership Network at the Aspen Institute.
Mechelle Wilder is a founding Partner of ARC Realty. ARC is a growing real estate company of 350+ agents with eight offices throughout the State of Alabama. Mechelle was named one of 25 “Women To Watch” for 2019 by the Birmingham Business Journal, is member of the 2018 class of “Women Who Shape the State of Alabama”, the 2018-2019 class of Leadership Birmingham and is 2019 President for The Birmingham Association of Realtors (BAR) MLS Board. She is a graduate of Samford University and currently attends Birmingham School of Law. Mechelle has been married to the Rev. Dr Thomas Lee Wilder Jr for 36 years and they have four adult children.
