The LGBTQ Fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham will open its third annual grant cycle on Monday June 25 with proposals due by noon Friday July 20. The 2018 LGBTQ Fund Grants will be awarded to organizations in Central Alabama that serve the LGBTQ community and their allies, or seek to expand existing programs to be inclusive and affirming of persons who identify as LGBTQ.
Priority will be given to proposals that specifically address the needs of communities that have been most demonstrably underserved, including, but not limited to, communities of color, youth, seniors, persons in rural communities, intersectional programs addressing faith and acceptance, and serving transgender and gender non-conforming persons.

LGBTQ FUND AWARDED $40,000 MATCHING GRANT
The LGBTQ Fund has been recognized by a national foundation for LGBTQ issues. Our fund received a grant from their “Out in the South” initiative, which will match 50% of all donations up to $80,000! Our matching grant provides us with an amazing opportunity to accelerate our momentum.
Please make a donation now and help us maximize the matching grant and turn $80,000 into $120,000! Join our donor, Judge Bill Hereford, and “serve as a catalyst for change and … promote a community free of prejudice and mistreatment of others.”
